Careers

Work on software people use every day, alongside engineers who've done it before.

You'd work in a small team and you'd own the outcome. There's nobody between you and the client, and we don't keep a bench or run death marches. We hire slowly and people stay for years.

What it's like

What the day-to-day looks like.

You'll join a client team of three to six, led by an experienced engineer, and own a proper slice of the system. That runs from the architecture conversation with the client's CTO through to the runbook you write the week before launch.

Releases go out every two weeks, and every change gets its own preview environment and a review. There's a delivery lead whose job includes keeping interruptions away from you. Every other Friday is off (a nine-day fortnight), and the working Friday in between is studio time for learning, tooling and whatever internal project needs doing.

Benefits

  • Nine-day fortnight, so every other Friday is off
  • Remote-first, with a studio in London
  • An annual learning budget and conference days
  • Private healthcare and enhanced pension
  • Hardware of your choice, refreshed every three years
  • Profit share paid twice a year

How we hire

Two conversations and a short paid exercise.

It starts with a call about what you've done and what you want next, followed by a technical conversation with the people you'd be working with. After that there's a short paid exercise that looks like the actual job (no whiteboard puzzles). Offers go out within a week of the final conversation.
